There are a lot of reasons why women, both black and white, find it difficult to find black men to date. This is not because of the ebony dating scene today but because of the attitude of women towards the idea. If you want to find black men that are good, it will depend on how you define “good”. If your standards are really high, chances are that you will never find that “perfect” match for you. Below I am going to name 5 reasons why it is hard for women to find a good black man to date.
One reason might be because women tend to be too picky. Women tend to ignore men who don’t dress the way they want them to, speak a certain way or have the occupation and salary that they desire. This is a wrong way of looking at things. For women to find black men that are good for them, they should look for what’s inside is head and heart and not focus on what’s on the surface. Having high expectations can also lessen your chance of finding a good partner. Set qualifications but don’t make them too unrealistic.
Another reason why women are having a hard time finding a partner is because of discussions they have with their girlfriends. Talking about stuff with your girlfriends who don’t have a partner either won’t make things any better. Usually, you would talk about materialistic things like the man should pay the bills and stuff. This perspective is why many black women remain single for the rest of their lives.
Going to a club and partying every weekend is also a reason why women find it difficult to find men and have a serious relationship with them. Men also talk with each other and often times they watch women a lot more than women think. If they spot you in the club every weekend, it would give them the impression that you want to stay single or you just want to have fun. This will turn them off, as good black men are looking for commitment and not just fun.
If you are a man-hater, then this may be the reason why you will never find black men to have a good relationship with. Chances are that you will stay single for the rest of your life. Stop blaming every single guy you meet for the wrongs that a certain guy did to you in the past. In a relationship, there is no room for old baggage.
Finally, having your own definition of what a “good” black man is can also be a reason why you will find it hard to look for a partner. Making a checklist of what you want will help you a lot. Stay positive when you are looking for that special someone. Be open-minded and avoid being too strict, let go of yourself a little and enjoy the moment. You never know when that someone will arrive.
